Flying Saucers and the Matterhorn

Looks like some members of the Disneyland band got to put on their shiny suits and spaceman helmets to join in the fun of the new attraction, as well.

Pendleton Mills Photospread

Scanned from a old Vacationland issue. Hard to imagine the current store filled with only non-Disney clothes as opposed to pins and all the rest. Wish we had a clearer look at the bag the man is carrying: wonder if it is a Pendleton only logo one, or a Disneyland specific design

Castle and Crowds - 1960's

A nice vintage view. See if you can spot Snow White, all seven Dwarves, the kid about to fall in the moat, and Rutherford B. Hayes! (Just kidding about Hayes)

Tomorrowland's Clock of the World

Post-1959, but not sure of more precise dating for this image sadly. A lovely tour guide is pointing out to Disneyland visitors how the top ornament of the Clock of the World looks like a large colander cut in half. Budgets were tight in the early years, you know.

First post and welcome!

For those who may know me, welcome! I am merely a collector and enthusiast of vintage Disneyland (and other theme parks to a lesser extent) paper goods, photos, oddities, postcards, merchandise, and so on and so on. This blog will feature items from my personal collection of a random nature, with some context or info given as available (or my own strange ramblings). Welcome, and please enjoy!

We start off today with a nice view of Disneyland's former Mickey Mouse Club Theater.

The theater opened with the park in 1955 and showed Disney cartoons. It would change names to Fantasyland Theater in 1964, and closed forever in advance of the 1983 Fantasyland remodel.
